Having a Personal Understanding of the Value of One's Home is a Gift

A social spotlight by Darla Michelsen

Tim Johnson is a Realtor serving Minneapolis / St Paul and the surrounding areas

Tim Johnson of Minneapolis started his career in Senior leadership with financial institutions by overseeing Real Estate departments including co-leading an entire organization with Real Estate and loan departments for over 17 years.

He has a strong sense of what home really means to people after surviving a house fire at eight years old.  This changed his views on the importance of your home.
Often times he found himself in positions of leadership between agents and special situations where things like a mold issue can interupt the process and put both buyers and sellers into a stressful state.
This made a strong impression and having the personal understanding that his abilities could help people, plus he could leverage his knowledge and offer a higher level of service to clients knowing there is nothing more important than a persons home.
Darla Michelsen: What do you think is the biggest benefit that you offer your clients?
Tim Johnson: Having holistic knowledge to help see issues and remedy them before they become big problems.
DM: What does being a creative Real Estate agent mean to you?
TJ: Thinking in the moment to solve any issue!
DM: What do you like most about the where you live and work?
TJ: I live in South Minneapolis, having the chain of lakes that run through it makes the city very active. I love the outdoor life! And the lifestyle is very diverse.
DM: I have a personal fondness myself for Minneapolis because when I was in High school I would save my money all year so I could go shopping in the city.
must have been Mary Tyler Moore thing.
TM: That doesn't surprise me, people still come for that connection and to have pictures taken with iconic landmarks
DM: What do you like to do in your free time?
TM: I'm a outdoor person so biking and kayaking is big for me, and travel and cooking.
DM: Tell me three things about yourself that most people wouldn't know?
TJ: I'm an open book ! I have started a travel blog, and I make my own beer.  I also collect cuff links from the places I travel.
DM: If you could sing any song on American Idol what would it be?
TJ: Bring me some water.. by Melissa Etheridge.. a good fun song.
DM: If you could invite any one person for dinner, both dead or alive who would it be?
TJ: My Mom who passed away from Lung Cancer.
DM:What is your super power
TJ: I'm highly adaptable
DM: What would be your kyponite?
TJ: I don't have patience with people who just don't care.
DM: If you could do any other job what would you do?
TJ: A travel blogger or have my own travel show.
DM: What do you think about when you are driving in the car alone?
TJ: I drive a convertible and I just turn up the radio and sing!
DM: If money was no issue, how would you use it to help others?
TJ: I've thought about this alot, I'am very passionate about helping communities coming together to serve a common cause. I would like to set up a trust fund that would empower them as well as working beside them to make a postive change.
DM:If you could turn back time what would you do differently?
TJ: I would have found more ways to spend time with my mom.
It was a pleasure getting to know Tim better and listening to his passion for helping people. He has a deep compassion that only comes with having lived through some of life's challenges and rising above them.
