My name is Adrian Jones. I retired from the NYC Police Department in 2002 as a Second Grade Detective. I am one of those retirees that really did love "The Job". However, I also believe that after surviving twenty years and 9/11 one should not push their luck-- the decision to retire was made.
Why Las Vegas? Hmm, for starters, my pension is not taxed! Something we as retirees need to consider. (Especially since there is no cost of living increase in our pension-- every little bit helps!). The climate was another plus. Although change of seasons is great, I am enjoying not having to purchase snow shovels. A very big plus was the affordability of homes WITH BUILT-IN POOLS! Tell me where in the city we can afford that with our pension!
