Michael Caven has been committed to LGBT causes for over twenty five years, as a social worker and counselor, political and community activist, businessman and philanthropist. Michael founded and co-owned Out On Main Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Out On Main was the first and only LGBT themed restaurant in the United States, celebrating our history and culture with sweeping murals, precious artifacts, Hollywood costumes and shadowbox tables, along with first rate cuisine and service. During his years in Ohio, Michael earned an MS in clinical counseling, volunteered for HIV outreach services, suicide prevention and the Kaleidoscope youth coalition. He co-founded FLIP Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Out On Main Restaurant, as well as the Legacy Fund at the Columbus Foundation. Michael was awarded the President’s Service Award at Stonewall Columbus Community Center, served on its board, co-founded Downtown South Development Corp and served on the board of Capital Crossroads Improvement District. In 1998 Michael received the Human Rights Campaign Equality Award. As a real estate professional in Center City, Philadelphia, Michael developed an historic rehabilitation of a 150 year old building into six condominiums; he has been a buyer, seller and investor, so he best services his clients because he understands all the angles. In the tradition of his platinum customer service in the restaurant business, Michael offers a fiduciary commitment to his real estate clients. He works extensively with relocation clients as well as first-time homeowners. He and his life partner Wen Zheng share a home near beautiful Rittenhouse Square. |
