James is a full time REALTOR® who can be reached seven days a week. When he isn't holding open houses or showing homes he enjoys being outdoors as well as spending time with his two dogs; Domino a Jack Russell Terrier and Graycie an Italian Greyhound, and friends. Him and his partner, Jeremy, also recently co-purchased a condo in McDaniel Heights that he is renovating. A 2005 graduate of The Wyatt Institute of Real Estate in Greenville and a National Association of REALTORS® e-PRO Graduate. Since forming Akers, Bartlett, & Co. in 2006, James has specialized in helping sellers market & sell their home. He currently has one of the lowest days on the market averages in Greenville, at 45 days. James currently serves on The Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS® Grievance Committee as well as The Realtor Political Action and Legislative Committee. James announced in February that he would run as a Democrat for the Greenville County Council District 24 seat. In June he won his primary with 54% of the vote and now faces a Republican opponent in November. If Akers wins he will be the first open gay candidate elected to any office in South Carolina. |
